It’s a cold, bright winter day and I’m very glad to be at home. The weekend has begun and thus my fun, satisfying work and play has begun. The movie du jour – Flying Monkeys. There’s nothing some trash TV to make daytime viewing worthwhile.*
I have the usual on my list of things to do this weekend. Dusting, vacuuming, crafting and writing. Right now I’m wrapped up in my big sweater with cold legs inside a pair of jeans. A lap shawl might be in order. If I have anything to say about it there will be a fire in the fireplace before it gets dark and I’ll have a glass of wine beside me while I do whatever has to be done be it watching Mad Men (arriving soon via Netflix-today), gluing bottle caps, or reading in the warm glow of the East Wing.
I’ve always hated the song Working for the Weekend, but it’s pretty much true. Right now my life is all about the weekends. But guess what? I’ll be retiring in less than a year. Seriously? Yes. I’ll be eligible, so chances are pretty good I’ll be doing it because no one should have to work longer than 35 years at the same place. I’m just sayin’.
Happy Weekend, everyone!
*I’m embarrassed to admit having watched this movie. It’s terrible. Like, really, really terrible.
Is that a pic of you East Wing? Looks sophisticated but cozy!
Yes, that’s the East Wing. Next time you’re over I’ll take you up there and you can check it out. I never realized it until you asked how much of people’s houses we don’t see even if visit often!
Sara you are a busy lady the balance of crafting and writing I believe there are never enough hours in my day to sketch and write. I love your room it looks so warm and inviting, a great place to write I image.
Ps counting the days till you retire and become a full time writer xx
