The snow keeps coming here in Minnesota, but because it’s March it’s kind of melty.  With melty snow comes icicles.  I know, icicles aren’t desireable to a lot of home owners, but I think they’re one of the prettiest occurances nature gives.

Here’s the story of a lovely lady, who was bringing up three very lovely girls.  All of them had hair of gold like their mother, the youngest one in curls.

Here’s the story of a man named Brady, who was busy with three boys of his own.  They were four men living all together, but they were all alone.

‘Til the one day when the lady met this fellow and they knew it was much more than a hunch that this group must somehow form a family, that’s the way they all became the Brady Bunch.

Mom always says don’t play ball in the house!

Glasses! Oh, no, mom! Not glasses! They’ll make me look absolutely positively goofy!

Adios, Johnny Bravo!

I don’t snitch, I just tell it like it is.

All day long at school I hear how great Marcia is at this or how wonderful Marcia did that! Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!

It’s just not fair.  There she is with her size four body, all firm and perky.  Her hair is just so and every day she smells of a different perfume.  Her nails are perfectly manicured and I’m pretty sure that wax job on her legs goes all the way to Brazil, if you know what I mean.  While the vice presidents stand in line to take her out to lunch for shrimp cocktails and filet mignon I’m sitting at my desk eating Lucky Charms out of a Ziploc bag.

So I’m not the high-maintenance type, and that’s okay.  If she wants to spend all that money on herself that’s just fine and good.  She looks great, actually.  The thing is, she’s mean.  She’s mostly mean to other women.  She’s also mean to the men she’s used up.  She’s making her way to the top of the company with her experience, the kind of experience which would account for the Brazilian wax.  I don’t worry too much; she’ll be promoted out of here before long because she flirted with and kissed the right guy.  Before she goes, I think I’ll leave this little present on her desk.

March is by far my least favorite month of the year.  I get a little depressed, a little bored and a little impatient with it all.  The snow is dirty, the air is damp.  It’s cold, it warms up, it’s cold again.  March can’t make up it’s mind and it bugs me.

We got some fresh snow.  About eight inches.  It cleans up that dirty stuff a bit which is good, but it’s March.  Aren’t the daffodils supposed to be popping out by now?

There’s a nice little treasury in Etsy that makes me feel a little better about this time of year.  The curator names it Blackberry Winter.  The purple colors remind me of winter and spring all at once.  They make March less annoying.  I’m honored to have my Blackberry Sage candle featured in the collection.

If you’re interested in any of the items in this treasury, just click on the image and you’ll be transported to Etsy where you can have a closer look.

She sat in the plush velvet chair accompanied only by flickering candle light, the ticking of the mantel clock and her imagination.  She read a story written a hundred years ago of unsettled ghosts and the humans they tormented.  The candles cast menacing shadows against the walls which would catch her eye between the lines of the story.  Tick tick tick tick tick said the clock like a metronome.  She could no longer separate herself from the terror of the words she read.  What was that?  Did she hear the cat stalking in the next room or was a spirit nearby to pay her a gruesome visit?  She was so paralyzed with fear she couldn’t bring herself to find out.  Ah, the thrill of a horror story.
