This month I’m doing a 30-day song challenge following the prompts given by Donna from MyOBT, one of my favorite blogs. It sounded like so much fun I couldn’t resist. Feel free to join in on your social media platform, add your picks in the comments below, or simply enjoy (hopefully) the music I’ve chosen.
I remember a boy I met in high school. He was a year older than me. Man, I liked that boy. He was tall and handsome, great sense of humor, and wore a cozy down jacket in the wintertime. I found out he liked me too. Alas, our romance was never to be realized. This song reminds me of that era and that boy, and summertimes spent during the age of innocence.
Isn’t it wonderful how songs can bring you right back? I once spent a hot summer night driving my young family to Ohio, to begin the following day at the Cedar Point theme park. I played Fleetwood Mac the whole way, and those songs always carry the heat, the city lights and the anticipation of adventure that I experienced then, more than forty years ago.
So true. For me music does more to stir memories than anything else. Like you said, the music actually brings on the sensations and feelings of the significant time in which the songs were played. The brain connecting to music is a wonderous thing.
