Greetings from the very colorful Midwest, USA.
This is my favorite time of year. In fact, October is my favorite month, which is why Husby and I chose October as the time to be united in wedded bliss. I donned a long-sleeved, brocade gown and it was unseasonably warm on our wedding day. I was very beautiful despite my sweatiness. You never know what October can bring.
One thing I can count on in October is color. The landscape in October is always colorful, maybe earlier in the month, maybe later, but the explosion is guaranteed. I’m sad for anyone who hasn’t seen it firsthand. What a feast for the eyes…
Happy October, everyone, no matter where you live.
Gorgeous photos there. Overall I much prefer the sun and warmer weather, but I do appreciate what the different seasons bring, and you’re right about the colours of Autumn. When I lived in Las Vegas for a few years I loved the sunshine, but I did miss the changing seasons, we really didn’t have an autumn or even a spring, it was mainly just hot for 10 months, and then a couple of months of winter and then back to hot again! And it was mostly evergreen type trees like palm trees, which again I loved, but missed the colour changes!
There are some years when the change in seasons is so subtle – those years throw my rhythm out of whack. I don’t know how I’d manage without all four seasons.
Of course there are the snowbirds – those who move to warmer climates during the winter. I’m not one of them, although I’m glad there are so many options in this country where people can live where they’re most comfortable.
Thanks for visiting, and stay warm!
